Parivartan organized a village awareness program with a view of promoting widespread awareness in rural areas. The event was organized in a locality of Dankaur, a village near Kasna(Greater Noida).
The volunteers interacted with almost 200 villagers, they were collected in a public place and made aware of the importance of education, especially focusing on the education of girl child. Other topics which were covered under the program were:
- Education for all
- Giving equal privileges to girl child
- Women empowerment
- Sanitation and cleanliness
- Health and hygiene
- Awareness for prevention and cures of diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Swine Flu, etc.
- Nutrition
- Information about the governmental schemes and aids for education and over all development
The event was attended by the villagers with great enthusiasm and they showed great interest in gaining knowledge about the things concerning them.
At the end of the program stationeries and eatables were distributed to kids. The governing authorities of the village too attended the event and appreciated the efforts of the Parivartan team. This was indeed a very enriching and motivated experience for the whole team and Parivartan was overwhelmed by the support and interest of the local people.
